Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms, aunties, grandmas, friends, dad-moms, fur-baby moms and anyone else who has had the pleasure of caring for another living being in their lifetime out there. Hope we didn’t forget anyone. As the linchpin that holds our writing team and our family together, our mom Nancy keeps us motivated. We don’t know what we’d do without her. Love you, Mom!
We made a small announcement earlier in the week that we would be switching focus in the coming weeks. We have all been suffering from science fiction fatigue and it has slowed our writing and editing down to a crawl. Rather than put out a crappy book in the interest of just getting the dang thing done, we’ve decided to set aside our second New Mother Earth book, Hunters of Gaia, for a few months. In lieu of that project, we’ll be revisiting an old project we started three years ago.
That manuscript, a crime thriller, is set in the present day Pacific Northwest. We’ve got a really good start on it with 110 pages already written, tons of background research, and a robust chapter map to work from. This week, we’re doing a read-through of the old material and then update the chapter map as needed before we begin adding new material. We are very excited about this project.
We’ll also be working on our Riverside horror novel, The Ocular. That book is well over 2/3 complete. We’re tweaking a few plot holes this week and then we’ll start adding new material again.
We appreciate your patience. Sometimes the creativity flows and other times, you have to prime the pump. With the sunny weather and renewed focus, we anticipate a great summer.
Happy Mother’s Day!
Anne, Nancy, and Eric
