2016 Off to a Good Start

Happy New Year! 2016 is off to a good start.

In just the first ten days, we’ve managed to knock out five new chapters of Hunters of Gaia, our second book in the New Mother Earth trilogy. The new material brings our word count to over 70,000, and we only have two more planned chapters for the first draft. Of course, we still have edits, rewrites, a beta read-through, and formatting before we can call it done but the bulk of it is almost finished.

As for our horror novel, The Ocular, which also languished on our to-do list for several months, we finally got around to adding new material as well this week. The Ocular is approximately two thirds of the way finished, sitting at almost 60,000 words. We are aiming for February 1st for a complete first draft. If we can keep our New Year momentum going, that should be an attainable goal.

Also, we’ll be contacting fellow writers and others in the book publishing business for interviews in the upcoming weeks. We’ll let you know as those are published on the blog.

2015 was a challenging year. We are family, and as such, we collectively struggled with the aftermath of a devastating accident, a move from Africa to Oregon, a new job, and ongoing major health issues. It was a welcome change to sit down on the first day of the New Year and reconfirm our commitment to our writing endeavors and to each other. We got a lot of love in this family.

Best of luck to you and yours in the New Year.

Anne, Nancy, and Eric
