All published writers must be crazy. Well, all writers are crazy but published writers must be a special breed of crazy. Why else would you pour your heart and soul into a story and then send it out into the cold cruel world? Book reviews are like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re going to get. (Sorry for the Gump reference, we just couldn’t help it.)
We’ve run into quite a few writers in online forums who refuse to publish for fear of harsh criticism. Some of these timid souls have already been beat down by their so-called friends and family and don’t relish the thought of perfect strangers commenting on their literary babies. We don’t blame them. We’re beginning to feel the same way.
For every few good reviews, you get a ‘meh’ review. We’ve only had two truly horrible reviews, so bad that apparently, we not only wrote a terrible book, we also kicked their puppy and stole their lunch money while we were at it. While you want to shrug it off, it’s hard not to take it as a personal attack. And while our good reviews far outnumber our bad ones, it’s the bad ones that stick with you.
It will not stop us, though. We keep on plugging away. As our voice of reason, Eric, says, “Haters gonna hate.” In the meantime, we’ll focus on our positive reviews.
From Amazon.com:
“This book is an easy 5-star experience. Carefully crafted, with a strong, yet feminine, female protagonist Katherine, and realistic, loveable characters, Creek House never disappoints – action and suspense till the end. A book to cherish and re-read in the future. p.s. Grisly parts are v e r y scary!”
As always, we appreciate your support. Thanks!
