Summer Wrap-up

Blog Pic 18 DEC

With only a few more weeks until Anne returns to Namibia, it feels like the summer break has flown by at a breakneck speed.

We’ll start by congratulating our book giveaway winners! Shawn McMullen of Deer Island, Oregon won a copy of Exiles of Gaia and Sheryl Wise of St. Helens, Oregon won a copy of Creek House. It was great to call them and give them the good news.

We finished up our book booth at the Columbia County Fair last Saturday. While we had a good time, we cannot call it a rousing success. It was with some dismay that we were greeted many times with the reply, “I don’t read.” That being said, we made some sales, gave away some bookmarks and had many interesting conversations with visitors to the booth. We’ve learned from our experience and now know that the county fair is not our ideal venue.

Next summer, we’ll be aiming for a table at the Northwest Book Festival in Portland. The book festival will be more tailored toward our target audience and is only a one-day event.

Over the next six weeks, we’ll be working on finishing up with Holly Virginia. We’ll also be producing new material on Return to Gaia, our sequel to Exiles.

In the meantime, we hope you’ll continue to follow us on our publishing journey. For those of you who stopped by the booth, thanks for the support!
Anne, Nancy and Eric
