I was just informed that I haven’t updated the blog in a while. It’s been a week since our last update and I’d hate to disappoint our fan base of one. If you think I’m referring to you, then of course, you are our one and only fan. (family doesn’t count. They have to love us. It’s in the rules.)
The last seven days have been a week of furious edits and rewrites. My mother, Nancy and my brother, Eric, have been working on our latest Renna Olsen offering, Cold Prairie. They have added over 30,000 words to the book! That is amazing.
They have turned it over to me for my final edit and the goal is to have that done by the end of the weekend. After I have my hack at it, we’ll all do one more read through for continuity.
The plan is to finally begin using a beta reader for this book. We’ve learned, the hard way, that we really do need another set of eyes on our material before we send it out to the world. We’ve never used a beta reader before but that resulted in quite a few changes of minor grammar mistakes and some confusing scenes after our other books had already been let out into the world. We want to prevent that from happening again and a beta reader is definitely the way to go.
Things are moving rapidly now with Cold Prairie and I think we are on track to have it ready to publish by the end of February. From there, we’ll be jumping into the second book in the Gaia series, Return to Gaia. Stick with us! We’re getting better at this book writing business every day.
We hope you have a great weekend. And for our peeps suffering through Snowpocalypse, stay safe and warm.
Anne, Nancy and Eric
