“In Creek House by Renna Olsen, Katherine Mitchell moves to Wind Valley with her young son, Danny, after her husband was tragically killed. She soon questions whether she made the right decision when strange and mysterious things begin happening at their new home that is known as Creek House. Unseen voices, unexplained attacks, and an evil presence haunt this little family. With the help of their new friends, including Danny’s loyal dog and troubled best friend, their protective Native American handyman, and the town’s compassionate veterinarian, the Mitchells struggle with not only their terrifying new home but also with moving on from losing a husband and father.
When I first saw the creepy house on the cover, I immediately got chills, but I also knew I just had to read this book. I am so glad I did. There were times when I was practically screaming at the characters to warn them, and then there were some gruesome scenes that made me shiver. Beneath the suspense and horror is the heart of the story: a mother and son’s loving relationship. As Katherine tries to get over the death of her husband and Danny begins to learn how to live without his father, the two learn to lean on and depend on each other. It is a frightening story full of intensity, terror, and heart. Brilliantly written by Renna Olsen, Creek House will have you on the edge of your seat, scared to turn the lights off at night and will leave you wanting to hold your loved ones. With a consistently entertaining plot and no slow or boring parts, I have absolutely no complaints. I will most definitely be checking out Olsen’s other books.”
