The last three weeks have been a whirlwind. Wow, has it only been three weeks? In that time, we’ve self-published three novels and a short story on Amazon, started a blog, established a Twitter account and a Facebook page, got our first editorial review and managed to celebrate the holidays.
What has this led us to, you ask? Well, I know for some of us, it’s led to social media burnout. I don’t want to even look at Twitter and all its weirdness. It reeks of desperation. I do not want that to be us.
Unfortunately, the only way to avoid self-marketing is to get picked up by a publishing house and I don’t see that happening anytime soon. One, we haven’t even submitted any of our works, opting instead to try and make a go of it ourselves. Two, even if we did submit, there’s no guarantee that we would get picked up. Our long term plan is to eventually submit our books but we wanted to give ourselves a chance first, little realizing the effort that would involve. This is work!
In the meantime, we’ll be working on our next offerings, polishing the finished ones as we get feedback, and trying to keep up with social media.
We value your input and your support. Don’t hesitate to contact us with questions or concerns. We love to hear from you. Anne, Nancy and Eric
